Stamping

What you need to know about stamping in your scrapbooks!
  1. Use the right ink. Just like your pens, your stamping ink needs to be permanent, fade proof, water proof, etc. I highly recommend Color Box/ Clearsnap products. The owner of the company is very knowledgeable on the subject of safety because he has done a lot of research. The company standards are very high and because of this I trust their products implicitly.
  2. Stamping can be very economical if you buy the right stamps.
  3. Stamping techniques can be used to create beautiful background papers for your books.
  4. If you are nervous stamping on your scrapbook page, stamp on a piece of white cardstock instead. Then when it is stamped and colored in, cut out the image and use adhesive to place it in your books, like a sticker.
  5. If you need instruction buy ANY book by Dee Gruenig. She has several great books.
  6. Think about the stamps you are buying before you spend the money. Will you use the same Christmas tree stamp every year in your album, I doubt it. However, if you made Christmas cards with it one year and use it in your albums a few times, then it has paid for itself.
  7. Remember to share/pool stamps with your friends. On your scrapbooking night have a special stamping night where everyone brings rubber stamps to share. If you see a stamp you might want to use, stamp the image on cardstock and file it away like you would a sticker for future use.
